Here are a few pictures from a photo essay I did a couple years ago that was featured at the local community center. Most of these photos were taken in the park across the street from the house I grew up in. The park was a year-round playground for all us kids and is still a fun place to wander around in. Summertime and the living is easy.Green heron, the smallest of the heron family and a beautiful bird.One of those Kodak moments I couldn’t resist. Hard to tell the scale here, but that snapping turtle is about 3.5 feet long. The painted mud turtle’s shell is about 12-inches long. I’ve been tracking this big creature for years and look forward to spotting it again every spring.
