After substitute teaching for a couple of years in grade and high schools, and last attending college classes in 1998, it comes as no surprise that important historical dates are no longer emphasized. The last college history class I took used comic books for class texts.
It is unacceptable that huge numbers of high school graduates cannot name the World War II’s Allied and Axis powers, that many cannot identify the country where the Civil War was fought.
It is a national tragedy that a growing percentage of Americans living in New York cannot give the date or year of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Watch the video.
