The overturning of Arizona’s Clean Elections law leaves incumbents like Gov. Jan Brewer scrambling for campaign funds.
The law was a bad idea from the start. Tax payers and political candidate supporters should be the ones who decide to whom and how much money they will donate–not the government.
Red State ran this piece on Az. Dist. 3 candidate Pamela Gorman’s stance on Clean Elections. It’s a must read for every voter.
I am opposed to the idea behind Clean Elections. What is disturbing is the timing of the court’s ruling coming just as the campaign cycle approaches an important primary vote.
It is hard to play by the rules when the rules change just as candidates who signed on were counting on those funds. The legal battle on this one is going to get nasty.
