There is hypocrisy in conservative commentators railing about the executive branch members’ free time activities. For years, the same voices complained when critics made an issue of George W. Bush’s jogs and trips home to Crawford, Texas.
After hearing and reading multiple reports about Vice President Joe Biden’s weekend squirtgun fight with other administration members, a friend pointed out that Dick Cheney’s time off activities used real guns.
Better to have Biden and the admin gang at the VP’s mansion having squirtgun fights than interfering in the gulf oil spill effort. If the criticism does convince Biden to take a PR tour of the gulf, he should take the super-soakers along. They might be useful to degrease a pelican or two.
